Well it'd be great if I didn't have to use textures, but as I see it I really do
If the polygons are not textured, it's very easy to lose orientation, especially when facing a wall. So for now, I'm just going to stick to the standards, once when polygon throughput is measured in tera-TPS I will focus my attention to polygons only
I'll mostly be using textures as materials, to generate procedural-texture-like effects, and possibly some details, like windows etc. All the textures in the demo are provisionary, I mostly nicked them off of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I'll replace them ASAP.
There's a new patch, and two screenshots to go with... Pay attention to the city skyline in the second image...

Love the skyline
Now go tell RPS! |

The new patch now works with wasd keys for movement. Just letting you know so you wouldn't think it was some odd omar-paralyzed bug. |

| The patched verson of ooo3d doesn't run for me, but the original does. I just get a black screen with the patch, no sound. |

Ooops...
That was entirely my fault, sorry, I included the wrong version of the gei file. Try again, it should work this time, unless there's something even more wicked at work here |

Thanks for the info, once they open up the application process, I'm quite likely going to try. |

I get like... 0.0000001fps on an ATi Radeon HD 4870 (or 4890... I can't remember).
I have a Quad i5 processor too so that's not the problem.
When and if you return... can you look into this? |
